OUR STORY

    Necessity is the mother of innovation. I created Range meal bars while attending college in Montana, because smaller energy bars weren’t cutting it for my weekend adventures, or long days on campus. The largest bars on the market were still shy of 400 calories, and I found them to be dry and overpriced. After experimenting with some calorically dense, whole ingredients, I eventually came to the recipe for the original flavor, Alpine Start.

Weekend adventure

    Wrapped in wax paper and sporting 700 calories each, these rudimentary prototypes were a game changer. No more crushed bananas, or stale PB&Js. Friends caught on quick, and started asking me to pack extra “Zach Bars” for them. Many bars later, I became convinced that other people would appreciate this rugged, unrefined food. After over a year of work, I am excited to bring Range's first flavor, Alpine Startto market starting in May of 2020.

    The Range bars sold today are the same ones I would bring along for a ski day in Montana. No fillers, preservatives, or cut corners. Only whole ingredients you'd find in my pantry. I hope Range meal bars make their way into your pack, and I look forward to seeing what peaks, beaches, and job sites they visit first.
